Job summary

Waimea College invites applications for a part-time, fixed-term Guidance Counsellor to join our Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura team. The position is 0.6 FTE with a start date of 27 January 2027 and an end date of 16 December 2027 (leave cover).

The successful applicant will have counselling experience and the ability to connect with a diverse student population, with a particular advantage for engaging male students. Applications close 15 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Counselling experience with strengths in dealing with a range of student needs.
• Ability to connect with male students would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Join staff for a fixed-term period covering leave.
• Provide counselling support to students in Years 7–15.
