Job summary

Willow Park School on Auckland's North Shore invites an inspiring te reo Māori specialist teacher to lead te reo me ōna tikanga Māori across the school. This fixed-term role is 0.8 FTTE (4 days per week), with the possibility to move to 1.0 FTTE including an additional classroom release day.

You will develop a school-wide te reo programme for Year 1–6, grow junior and senior kapa haka groups, and support a vibrant language-learning culture across all year levels with a commitment to whānau

Qualifications

• Confidence in te reo Māori and willingness to further develop proficiency.
• Deep understanding of tikanga Māori and culturally responsive practice.
• Proven ability to teach primary-aged learners across Years 1-6.
• Experience leading and tutoring kapa haka.
• Current New Zealand Teacher Registration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a school-wide te reo Māori teaching and learning programme for Year 1 to Year 6.
• Lead, grow, and inspire our junior and senior kapa haka rōpū.
• Teach across all year levels, fostering a vibrant, engaging language-learning environment.
