Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is offering a Fixed Term Enrolled Nurse position in Community Nursing at Dunedin Hospital. This part-time 0.8 FTE role is fixed term until September 2026 and is paid on a pro-rata basis within the salary band.

You will deliver nursing care and health education across the life span in community, residential or hospital settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support health consumers and their whānau.

Qualifications

  • Experience in surgical, medical or community settings is desirable.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Good fitness to meet physical demands of the job.
  • Full clean driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to nursing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care for health consumers and/or families/whānau.
  • Assist health consumers with activities of daily living, observe changes in health conditions and report to the registered nurse, administer medicines and undertake other nursing care responsibilities appropriate to their assessed competence.
  • Work in a team in acute settings with registered nurses, enrolled nurses and healthcare assistants.
  • Be accountable for nursing actions and practice competently in accordance with legislation, to your level of knowledge and experience.
  • Work in partnership with health consumers, families/whānau and multidisciplinary teams.

Salary Band - $69,934- $83,349 p.a. pro-rata

Our Enrolled Nurses deliver nursing care and health education across the life span to health consumers in community, residential or hospital settings.

You will:

  • Contribute to nursing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care for health consumers and/or families/whanau.
  • Assist health consumers with the activities of daily living, observe changes in health consumers' conditions and report these to the registered nurse, administer medicines and undertake other nursing care responsibilities appropriate to their assessed competence.
  • Work in a team in acute settings with a registered nurses, enrolled nurses and healthcare assistants.
