Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Dunedin, is seeking a Fixed Term Enrolled Nurse for Community Nursing. The role covers nursing care across life span in community, residential or hospital settings, with pro-rata annual salary between $69,934 and $83,349.

The Enrolled Nurse will work in a team with RNs, enrolled nurses and HCAs, and contribute to care planning, delivery and evaluation. A full, clean driver’s license is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Be passionate, committed and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Experience in surgical, medical or community settings is desirable.
  • Capable of working autonomously.
  • Able to cope with the physical demands of the role and hold a full clean driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Assist with activities of daily living; monitor changes; report to RN; administer medicines.
  • Work in a team with registered nurses, enrolled nurses and healthcare assistants.
  • Be accountable for nursing actions and practice within legislation to your knowledge and experience.
  • Work in partnership with health consumers, families/whanau and multidisciplinary teams.

Salary Band – $69,934- $83,349 p.a. pro-rata

About the Role

Our Enrolled Nurses deliver nursing care and health education across the life span to health consumers in community, residential or hospital settings.

  • Contribute to nursing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care for health consumers and/or families/whanau.
  • Assist health consumers with the activities of daily living, observe changes in health consumers' conditions and report these to the registered nurse, administer medicines and undertake other nursing care responsibilities appropriate to their assessed competence
  • Work in a team in acute settings with a registered nurses, enrolled nurses and healthcare assistants
  • Be accountable for their nursing actions and practice competently in accordance with legislation, to their level of knowledge and experience
  • Work in partnership with health consumers, families/whanau and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Be capable of working autonomously,
  • Have a reasonable level of fitness required to cope with the demanding physical requirements of the job,
  • Have a full clean driver's license
