Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Southern is seeking a Fixed Term Enrolled Nurse for Community Nursing in Dunedin. The role encompasses delivering nursing care and health education across life stages in community, residential, or hospital settings, with a focus on assessments, planning and teamwork.

The position is fixed term until January 2027, full-time (1 FTE) at Dunedin Hospital, with a salary band of $69,934–$83,349 p.a. pro-rata.

Qualifications

• Be passionate, committed and have a positive attitude.
• Experience in a surgical, medical or community setting is desirable.
• Be capable of working autonomously.
• Have a reasonable level of fitness to cope with the demanding physical requirements.
• Have a full clean driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to nursing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care for health consumers and/or families/whanau.
• Assist health consumers with activities of daily living, observe changes in health consumers' conditions and report to the registered nurse, administer medicines and undertake other nursing care responsibilities appropriate to their competence.
• Work in a team in acute settings with registered nurses, enrolled nurses and healthcare assistants.
• Be accountable for nursing actions and practice competently in accordance with legislation to their knowledge and experience.
• Work in partnership with health consumers, families/whanau and multidisciplinary teams.

About the Role

You will:
