Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Administration Team Leader for BreastScreen Midland and Breast Care at Waikato Hospital and CBD HNZ office. This fixed-term, full-time role (40 hours) focuses on leading administrative teams, coordinating operations, and supporting staff wellbeing to ensure high-quality patient care.

About the Role

As Team Leader you will provide day-to-day leadership, coordination and operational support to Breast Screening and Breast Care Services. Working in partnership with the Breast Screening and Breast Care Manager, you will help ensure the effective delivery of patient services across our administration teams. You will provide visible leadership during daily operations support staff development and wellbeing, coordinate workforce requirements, and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives. This is a hands‑on leadership role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with frontline staff, clinical teams to ensure patients receive a high-quality, service that supports their clinical care and wellbeing. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people, building strong relationships, solving problems, and making a positive difference to the patient experience.

About the Team/Service

Breast Screen Aotearoa (BSA) is a breast cancer screening programme providing mammograms every two years for eligible women aged 45-69 years. We have recently rolled out age extension to those eligible up to 74. There are eight providers covering New Zealand, of which Breast Screen Midland is one. Breast Screen Midland (BSM) covers the geographic boundaries of the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Lakes District regions. BSM currently offers this service from eight fixed sites across the region and is supported by four mobiles that travel around the region providing accessibility for rural women.
