Job summary

Alliance Group invites applications for a Maintenance Engineer/Fitter at the Mataura Plant to maintain, install and support plant operations and equipment, with a focus on minimizing downtime through effective maintenance.

Ideal candidates have a Fitter Trade Qualification and at least 5 years maintenance experience in an FMCG setting, with knowledge of bearings, hydraulics and conveyor systems. Shift work and safety are emphasized for this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Fitter Trade Qualification is required.
• At least 5 years maintenance experience in FMCG processing environment.
• Knowledge of bearings, seals and gaskets, and alignment principles.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work shift work.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.

Te Tūranga - The Role

Alliance Group has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Engineer/Fitter at our Mataura Plant. We are looking for a motivated person based at our Mataura Plant to maintain, install, and support operations and operational equipment and through effective plant maintenance minimise plant downtime. This position reports to the mechanical supervisor.

Ideally you will have:

• a relevant Fitter Trade Qualification
• at least 5 years maintenance experience in the FMCG processing environment
• a sound knowledge of bearings, seals and gaskets, and alignment principles.
• knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyor systems
• the ability to concentrate for extended periods
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• good communication and time management skills.
• the ability to work shift work

Your core role will need you to perform the required planned preventative maintenance and while maintaining a very high level of safety standards. You will maintain and repair machinery and processing equipment, determine the root cause and replace damaged or defective components as needed along with addressing breakdowns ensuring minimum downtime to the business.
