Job summary

New Zealand Red Cross is seeking a First Aid Instructor based in Hamilton to deliver high-quality first aid training across the Waikato region. You’ll facilitate courses that meet NZRC standards and provide learner support to help them succeed.

The role requires rostered shifts including weekends, with travel across the wider region and accommodation provided where needed. A background in emergency health and teaching experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• A background in Emergency Care Services or related Health field is an advantage.
• Experience in a teaching environment preferred.
• Full clean NZ Driver’s License is required.
• Physical capability to demonstrate first aid techniques safely.
• The confidence to interact with a cross-section of the public.
• Passion for teaching and promoting safety in the community.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
• Availability to work weekends and evenings when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality first aid courses across the Waikato region.
• Facilitate engaging, effective courses that meet NZRC standards.
• Rostered shifts across a 7-day period, including weekends.
• Some travel across the wider region with accommodation provided.
