About the RoleReporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the leadership team, the Finance Manager will oversee all aspects of the financial operations of the business. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting. This role will suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working collaboratively across teams to drive efficiency, compliance, and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:Prepare and manage monthly management accounts, board reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Provide financial insights to guide decision-making.
Cashflow & Working Capital:Monitor and forecast cashflow, manage banking relationships, and ensure optimal working capital.
Payroll & Tax Compliance:Oversee payroll processing, PAYE, GST, and other statutory tax filings in line with New Zealand regulations.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:Supervise AP/AR processes to ensure timely payments and collections. Monitor aged receivables and support the credit control process.
Audit & Compliance:Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Systems & Processes:Maintain and improve financial systems and controls. Work with internal teams to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
Inventory Oversight:Collaborate with operations to monitor and reconcile stock and inventory movements, contributing to supply chain and cost control decisions.
Leadership:Provide support and mentorship to junior finance or admin team members, helping to build a high-performing and motivated finance function.
About YouWe’re looking for a detail-oriented and solutions-focused individual who can balance day-to-day financial responsibilities with strategic thinking.
You’ll bring:
Experience in a finance or accounting leadership role.
Strong technical accounting skills and up-to-date knowledge of NZ accounting standards and tax regulations.
Proficiency in Excel; experience with inventory systems is necessary for this role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — able to present financial information clearly and confidently to non-finance stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage deadlines and priorities in a dynamic business environment.
Experience using NetSuite and NetSuite reporting is an advantage.
A proactive mindset, with a continuous improvement approach to processes and systems.
