Job summary

ACC in Wellington is seeking a Financial Accountant to ensure accurate financial information, statutory compliance, and robust controls. You will support month-end close, reconciliations, tax compliance, and audits while driving improvements in processes and automation.

The role requires a tertiary accounting qualification, CA ANZ membership, and experience in a large finance function with ERP systems, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

As a Financial Accountant, you'll play an important role in ensuring ACC has accurate, reliable financial information to support decision-making across the organisation. Working as part of our Financial Accounting team, you'll contribute to statutory reporting, tax compliance, financial controls, reconciliations, and fixed asset management, helping deliver high-quality, timely financial accounting services that make a real impact.

  • Deliver accurate financial reporting and month-end close

The appointing salary for this role is $85,037 - $120,052 based on experience.

About you | Mōu

You will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting or equivalent.
  • A CA ANZ Chartered Accountant membership or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a large finance function, working with ERP systems.
  • A firm grasp of tax compliance.
  • An ability to analyse problems that may involve large sets of data and establish and implement solutions.
  • An interest in continuous improvement and refining of accounting policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Good communication across a range of stakeholders.
  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves, be flexible and meet deadlines.
  • A good eye for detail and accuracy.

You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
