Job description

Are you a senior finance leader ready to build and shape operations from the ground up? As a global FMCG powerhouse expands into New Zealand, we are looking for a Finance Manager to lead our local full-cycle financial operations, establish robust internal controls, and drive strategic manufacturing cost management.

Job Details
  • Permanent, full-time leadership position
  • Located 25 minutes south of Manukau
  • Priority vacancy with immediate start available

In this role, you will take full ownership of our NZ accounting, tax compliance, and financial systems as we establish our regional presence. You won't just be managing the numbers, you’ll be partnering with production and sales teams, building a team of 4-5 finance professionals, optimizing product costing models, and implementing modern ERP systems (SAP/U9).

If you thrive on high autonomy and want to play a foundational role in an exciting global business entering the New Zealand FMCG market, this is your opportunity to build a high-performing finance function while bridging local NZ execution with our China-based global headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle local accounting operations (GL, cost accounting, and monthly closings), ensuring 100% data precision from day one.
  • Build internal controls, ensure local IRD tax compliance, and manage relationships with external auditors, financial partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Establish manufacturing cost-reduction frameworks and partner across departments to optimize product costing and variance analysis.
  • Direct annual budgeting, cash flow forecasting, treasury management, and financial risk governance.
  • Drive digitalisation by leading the setup and automation of financial IT systems (e.g., SAP, U9) to eliminate operational redundancies.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5-7+ years of total finance experience, with at least 2 years of proven, hands-on experience in New Zealand financial, tax, and accounting standards.
  • Deep industry expertise in large-scale FMCG or manufacturing environments (Food, Dairy, or consumer goods preferred) with specialist-level knowledge in cost modules.
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting alongside recognized professional accounting qualifications.
  • Hands-on proficiency with enterprise systems like SAP, U9, or Express, ideally with experience in system implementation or workflow digitalization.
  • Exceptional communication skills - bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin is highly preferred to interface seamlessly with China HQ, though native/fluent English-only candidates with strong local NZ market depth are also warmly invited to apply.

Be part of an ambitious brand's expansion story and lead core financial strategy in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
