Blue Star Group based at our Christchurch manufacturing site is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead a small finance team. The role focuses on turning financial data into actionable insights and partnering with senior leaders for strategic decision-making while performing day-to-day accounting tasks.

Ideal candidates will be proactive, detail-oriented and capable of providing financial leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Finance Manager role or senior management accounting role.
• Strong forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate across levels and provide strategic financial guidance.

Responsibilities

• Monthly accounting completion and review
• Day-to-day accounting operations including reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
• Cash flow forecasting and analysis
• Payroll - oversee weekly payroll information & review
• Process improvement identification and recommendation
• Manufacturing process margin analysis and costing
• Provide proactive financial and commercial advice on the business unit

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Finance professional to join and lead a small finance team, working 30-35 hours per week. This role is essential in supporting strategy through turning financial data into meaningful financial insights and collaboration with senior leaders for this business unit. This is a hands‑on Finance Manager role, so you will need to be equally comfortable with day to day accounting tasks whilst also providing financial leadership and advice as part of the business SLT. This role is perfect for someone who's not only analytical and proactive, but also enjoys connecting with other passionate people in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities
