Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join the Publicis Groupe New Zealand finance team, with a focus on partnering with our media agencies.

This is a broad, commercially focused role that goes well beyond reporting the numbers. Working closely with our Group Finance Director and agency leadership teams, you’ll play an important role in the financial performance of some of our media businesses, providing insight, challenging where needed and helping our teams make smart commercial decisions.

You’ll have ownership across financial reporting, client finance, compliance and business optimisation, while leading and developing members of the finance team.

What you’ll do

No two days will look quite the same, but your remit will include:

  • Leading month-end review, financial reporting, forecasting and annual budget processes
  • Partnering with agency leaders on client financials, including budgets, contractual requirements, profitability, financial risk and scope
  • Identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance, grow revenue and reduce costs
  • Providing commercially focused financial and operational advice to teams across the business
  • Driving strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with Publicis Groupe policies and processes
  • Managing internal and external audit requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and create greater efficiencies
  • Overseeing key finance activities across the media agencies, including payroll and trading-related calculations
  • Leading and supporting members of the finance team and building strong relationships across Publicis Groupe.
About you

You’ll be an experienced finance professional who enjoys being close to the business. You’re comfortable getting into the detail, but just as comfortable stepping back, spotting an opportunity or risk, and having a commercial conversation with senior stakeholders.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience at Finance Manager level or in a similarly broad commercial finance role
  • Experience within a media, advertising or creative agency environment
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability
  • A commercial mindset and the confidence to partner with senior stakeholders
  • Strong Excel skills and an ability to work comfortably across financial systems
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and process management skills
  • A proactive approach and the perseverance to see issues through to resolution
  • Previous experience leading or supporting others within a finance team
  • Experience with Pegasus would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.
Why Publicis Groupe?

At Publicis Groupe, you’ll get the scale and opportunity of a global network while working closely with some of New Zealand’s leading media agency teams. This role gives you exposure across multiple businesses, senior stakeholders and a diverse range of clients, with the opportunity to genuinely influence how our agencies perform.

If you’re a commercially minded finance professional who likes being close to the business and wants a role where you can make an impact beyond the numbers, we’d love to hear from you.
