Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Hungry for a new challenge?
Have an appetite for turning numbers into meaningful insights?
Craving a new role where you can make a real impact?

At Farro, Auckland’s most mouthwatering food market, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join our team and play a key role in supporting the financial performance and continued growth of the business.

Reporting to the CFO, you’ll work closely with the Executive Team and operational leaders, providing meaningful financial insight, supporting commercial decision-making and ensuring the finance function operates effectively and efficiently.

You’ll lead a team of six and have the opportunity to shape how finance supports the wider business – strengthening financial controls, improving systems and processes and helping our teams better understand the numbers behind their performances.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading, coaching and developing a finance team of four AP Assistants and two Assistant Accountants.
  • Managing the monthly financial close and delivery of accurate and timely management accounts.
  • Reviewing financial performance, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow results, identifying key variances, trends risks and opportunities.
  • Preparing insightful monthly management reporting and commentary for the CFO and senior leadership team.
  • Supporting annual budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling processes.
  • Providing commercial analysis and financial insight to support business and operational decision-making.
  • Managing short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting and monitoring working capital.
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with accounting, tax and statutory requirements, including overseeing the annual audit and preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Providing oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring effective processes and strong controls.
  • Building strong relationships across the business and promoting financial accountability and understanding.
  • Driving continuous improvement, automation and efficiencies across finance systems and processes.
  • Working closely with the CFO on Board reporting, banking and financial covenant reporting.
What you’ll bring

You’ll be a qualified accountant with a minimum of five years’ experience in senior finance roles with a strong grounding in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial finance.

Ideally, you’ll have experience within a retail, FMCG, distribution or multi-site operational environment, with exposure to inventory and product margins. You’ll be highly analytical, commercially curious with the confidence to challenge existing processes, ask the right questions and find better ways of working.

Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective relationships across both finance and operational teams. You’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

You’ll also bring strong financial systems capability and advanced Excel skills.
