Contact Energy Ltd in Wellington seeks a commercially minded finance professional to join our Fixed-Term Financial Insights team. You will partner with Finance and Trading to fuse operational, market, and financial data into clear, actionable insights for decision makers.

You will influence planning, budgeting, and long‑range forecasting, delivering robust analysis and recommendations to executives and stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in commercial finance, financial insights, business partnering, or a similar discipline.
• Ability to combine finance expertise with commercial judgement to support decisions, assess risk, and identify opportunities.
• Strong analytical capability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance and Trading leaders to provide commercially relevant insights for decision making.
• Translate financial, operational, and market information into meaningful analysis and recommendations.
• Deliver forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities with clear emerging risks and opportunities.
• Support enterprise reporting and financial insight frameworks for decision-ready information.
• Build relationships across Finance and the wider business to influence conversations and alignment.
• Contribute to long-term forecasting and strategic planning initiatives.
• Ensure insight deliverables are accurate, transparent, and of high technical standard.
