Job summary

Emerge Group in New Zealand is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function end to end as a pivotal member of the leadership team.

You will set financial strategy, improve reporting and forecasting, and evolve systems and automation to support scale, governance and confident decision-making. You will present performance to the Board and drive capital efficiency.

Applicants must have NZ work rights; this is a hands-on, strategic role for a scaling fintech with global potential.

Qualifications

CA/CFA or equivalent qualification required.
Extensive experience in GAAP reporting, controls, and audits.
Significant fintech, payments, SaaS, banking or tech finance experience.
Strong modelling, forecasting, unit economics and capital efficiency skills.
Experience presenting to Boards and working with regulators.

Responsibilities

Lead financial strategy, budgets, forecasts and analysis.
Present performance and SaaS metrics to the Board.
Drive capital efficiency via scenario planning and runway management.
Translate data into clear insight for executives.
Lead core finance operations: payroll, treasury, month-end close, audits, compliance.
Evolve automation and systems to support finance.
Help design future finance team and guide strategic hires.
