Job summary

PwC New Zealand seeks a Senior Manager to lead the Finance, Economics & Analytics team within Consulting in Auckland. You will guide complex projects, develop financial models, and deliver strategic economic insights for clients.

Based in Auckland, you will work with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and drive business development while upholding PwC's reputation for quality and impact.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in a finance, economic, strategic and/or commercially focused role with a strong track record of steering complex projects to successful outcomes.
  • Degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to perform thorough policy, regulatory, economic, market, and/or strategic analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to assess needs and provide innovative solutions using financial and economic modelling skills.
  • Drive business development by leveraging market presence and relationships.
  • Present strategic insights to demonstrate client value and identify opportunities for expanded services.
  • Lead and manage project teams to ensure effective delivery and success.
  • Oversee the entire project delivery lifecycle to maintain quality and deadlines.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of junior team members by sharing knowledge.

Join our dynamic Finance, Economics & Analytics team within Consulting, where you will become an integral leader in navigating complex problems across diverse industries. Collaboratively, we apply economic principles and leverage financial and commercial insights to deliver impactful solutions. Our assignments involve solving complex technical problems as a team, including developing financial models, business cases, valuations, strategic options assessment, investment and regulatory strategy, transaction support, economic analysis, and other analytical, economic or market regulation and commercial support. Celebrate success with us as you help shape the future through innovative problem-solving and strategic collaboration. Based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, you will be an integral part of our Consulting business unit (which sits within our broader Advisory line of service), providing clients with robust analytical advice and insights.

Your day-to-day will include

  • Driving business development by leveraging market presence, forging robust relationships, and adopting best practices.

  • Overseeing the entire project delivery lifecycle to maintain quality and meet deadlines.

  • 7+ years of experience in a finance, economic, strategic and/or commercially focused role (whether in professional services or in-house) with a strong track record of steering complex projects to successful outcomes.

  • Ability to perform thorough policy, regulatory, economic, market, and/or strategic analysis.
