Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Finance Business Partner on a fixed-term basis through to 31 December 2027. You will support financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, helping drive informed decision-making within a large, multi-faculty organisation.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of management accounting principles and accounting best practice.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI would be advantageous.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP or Oracle is desirable.
• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline (or currently working towards one).

Responsibilities

• Business Partnering - Support the Business Partnering team in developing relationships across the Faculty to ensure customer needs and expectations are understood and managed.
• Operational Activities - Support the provision of consolidated financial services for the Faculty including business intelligence, financial services, and financial administration. Support the FBPs in a range of finance activities.
• Financial Strategy, Planning and Performance - Support the development of Finance strategies and frameworks that align with the strategic aims of the University, balancing local and organisation-wide requirements.
• Culture, capability, development and training - Support the FBPs to develop a high-performing function, working collaboratively with finance team members, customers and stakeholders.
