Job summary

Persol in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, is seeking an aspiring Finance Analyst to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, GST compliance and transactional finance, gaining hands-on exposure beside the Accountant.

You'll prepare reports, assist with monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and improve reporting templates while contributing to accurate and timely financial information in a collaborative, learning-focused team.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in accounting/finance/commerce or related field.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
• Experience with MYOB ExoNet is advantageous.
• Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools is beneficial.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and delivering financial reports.
• Assisting with monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentary.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Developing and improving reporting templates and schedules.
• Assisting with GST preparation and tax compliance requirements.
• Providing support across accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Processing supplier invoices, payment runs and customer receipts.
• Assisting with debtor management and supplier queries.
• Supporting month-end close and reconciliations.
