Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Diesel/Mobile Plant Mechanic to service and repair Liebherr equipment across Auckland and wider New Zealand. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, perform major/minor servicing, and carry out fabrication and new builds as needed.

The role emphasizes accurate reporting, strong customer interaction, and adherence to health and safety standards. Travel to client sites and overtime when required are expected.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a diesel or mobile plant mechanic.
• Experience with earthmoving equipment and heavy mobile machinery.
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

Job description

• Service, maintain, diagnose and repair Liebherr equipment, including wheel loaders, material handlers and excavators
• Perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics and fault finding
• Complete major and minor servicing
• Carry out preventative maintenance and component replacement
• Perform fabrication and new machine builds as required
• Complete accurate service reports
• Work directly with customers and key accounts
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Travel to customer sites across Auckland and wider New Zealand
• Work additional hours when required, with overtime paid at time and a half

Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic
• Experience with earthmoving or heavy mobile equipment
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills
• Current driver's licence
• Flexibility to travel to customer sites and work overtime when required
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Basic Word and Excel skills
• Liebherr equipment experience highly desirable
• Forklift, W, T, R and Air Conditioning tickets highly regarded
