Job summary

Quest Apartment Hotels in Auckland oversees a varied, hands‑on Maintenance and Facilities Lead role across two hotels in Auckland and one in New Plymouth. You will manage day‑to‑day maintenance and upkeep, support refurbishment and capital works, and work with hotel management to keep properties safe, compliant and presented to a high standard.

You will coordinate internal and external trades, develop maintenance plans, handle FF&E projects and ensure cost‑effective repairs across the group.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in hotel environments.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple properties and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and preventative maintenance across hotel rooms, common areas and back-of-house spaces.
• Develop and maintain planned maintenance programmes and identify requirements before issues arise.
• Perform painting, plastering, and general building repairs to a high standard.
• Undertake minor plumbing and fixture repairs where licensed trade is not required.
• Repair, assemble, install and replace FF&E as needed.
• Identify issues early and determine repair vs replacement for long-term value.
• Manage maintenance equipment, tools, stock and work areas.
• Coordinate external tradespeople and contractors; build a reliable supplier network across the group.
• Obtain quotes, compare solutions and assist with maintenance, FF&E and capital budgets.
• Assist refurbishment projects including room upgrades and wider building works.
