Job summary

James Dunlop Textiles is seeking a Distribution Team member for our Mangere warehouse to cut, measure and package fabric drops from bulk rolls for customer orders and production needs. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role requiring accurate cutting and adherence to quality standards.

You will follow cutting specifications, minimise waste, and collaborate with the cutting team to meet deadlines while maintaining health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fabric or textile cutting role.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret orders and cutting specifications.
• Must be physically fit to lift and maneuver heavy rolls.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform repeated tasks.
• Full-time hours, Mon–Fri 6:00 am–2:30 pm in Māngere.
• Must pass a full police check.
• Forkhoist licence (or F endorsement with OSH certificate).
• Clean driver’s licence.
• Experience in the textile industry as a cutter.
• Current notice period.

Responsibilities

• Accurately cut fabric to specified measurements, ensuring a high standard of quality and consistency
• Minimise fabric wastage and achieve daily cutting targets
• Review fabric for flaws or inconsistencies and carry out quality control checks prior to dispatch
• Collaborate with the cutting team to meet tight deadlines and customer expectations
• Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with health and safety requirements
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment
