Responsibilities

• Operate and care for exterior cleaning equipment (soft wash, pressure cleaning, water-fed poles).
• Clean building exteriors, facades, roofs and outdoor surfaces to a high standard.
• Follow health and safety procedures during cleaning tasks.
• Prepare work areas and protect surrounding property from water, chemicals or debris.
• Assess surfaces before/after cleaning to ensure quality workmanship.
• Mix and apply cleaning products per company procedures.
• Inspect and maintain equipment regularly.

Hi-Tech Cleaning Solutions Ltd – Christchurch, South Island

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Exterior Cleaning Technician to join our expanding exterior cleaning business servicing Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region. In this role, you will help maintain the appearance and duty of care of residential and commercial properties by providing professional exterior cleaning services using specialised equipment. You will work at a variety of sites throughout Christchurch and Canterbury as part of a supportive and safety-focused team.

Key responsibilities

Operate and care for soft wash systems, pressure cleaning equipment, and water-fed pole systems.

Clean building exteriors, cladding, facades, roofs, and other outdoor surfaces to a high standard.

Follow all workplace health and safety procedures while completing cleaning tasks efficiently.

Prepare work areas and take measures to protect surrounding property from water, chemicals, or debris.

Assess surfaces before and after cleaning to ensure quality workmanship.

Mix and apply cleaning products and detergents according to company procedures.

Perform regular equipment inspections and maintenance checks.

Work safely at heights using approved fall-protection and safety equipment when required.

Complete job records and report maintenance issues or additional client requirements.

Communicate professionally with customers, site managers, and team members.

About you

Full New Zealand driver's license, with the confidence and ability to safely tow trailers.

Previous experience in building washing, exterior cleaning, property maintenance, or a related industry is advantageous but not essential.

The ability to successfully pass a drug test.

Willingness to work flexible hours when required to meet operational and client needs.

Strong commitment to health and safety, consistently following safe work practices and company procedures.

Experience or certification for working safely at heights and on roofs would be highly regarded.

Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves manual work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working outdoors for extended periods.

Good communication skills, with the ability to understand instructions, provide feedback, and communicate professionally in English with clients and team members.

The legal right to work in New Zealand.

The ability to successfully complete and pass a New Zealand Police Vetting check.
