Job summary

MPI's Ministry for Primary Industries in Wellington is offering a 12-month secondment for an Adviser Export Assurance within New Zealand Food Safety's Assurance Directorate. This role helps you develop understanding of export systems, regulatory frameworks, official assurances, and international market requirements while contributing to New Zealand's export reputation.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulatory, assurance, compliance, operational or policy environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development, implementation and review of export assurance standards and systems.
• Support monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement across export assurance programmes.
• Review approvals and provide advice on export assurance requirements and regulatory systems.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, verification agencies, laboratories and industry representatives.
• Analyse information and contribute to quality assurance and compliance activities.
