Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking an Exploration Field Technician at the Macraes Operation in Otago, NZ. You will oversee core sampling in the Macraes Core Shed, provide field support to the Exploration Department, and work on a day roster (8 days on, 6 days off) to help advance our largest New Zealand gold mine.

This role requires a valid driver’s licence, an Earth science degree preferred, basic computer skills, and forklift licence preferred.

Qualifications

• Full and current drivers licence required; manual vehicles preferred.
• Geology/Earth sciences degree preferred but not essential.
• NCEA Maths and English at Level 2.
• Basic computer competency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Macraes core shed and storage facilities.
• Process drill core: mark up, photography, cutting and sampling.
• Deliver drilling and samples to analytical laboratory.
• Manage sample storage and retrieval.
• Assist with diamond, blast hole and RC drill sample field collection.
• Comply with safety requirements and company policies.
• Follow SOPs and contribute to procedure development.
