Job summary

Community Care Trust Aotearoa is hiring Experienced Support Workers for the Canterbury Region on permanent contracts. We recruit up to 10 dedicated professionals to assist clients in their homes, helping them meet goals and engage with their communities.

Roles include night and weekend shifts on a rotating roster, with guaranteed 32 hours per week (32–40 hours), and potential sleepovers. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• A level 4 NZ Health & Wellbeing certificate (or equivalencies that have an IQA assessment from NZQA OR accepted international equivalents)
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience as a support worker

Responsibilities

• Support people in their homes, encouraging them to meet others and achieve new goals.
• Build new skills and help clients have a better link to their community.
• Collaborate with individuals across diverse needs including intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, youth, and dual diagnosis.
• Work across a 7-day service, including evenings and weekends; participate in rotating rosters.

Job description

Experienced Support Workers – Canterbury Region

We are seeking up to 10 Support Workers

The positions offered are permanent placements within the above region.

As Community Care Trust Aotearoa operates a 24/7 service to our community, our support workers are required to work on a rotating roster, which may include nights (sleep-over or wake-over shifts) and weekend shifts, generally with two consecutive rostered days off per week.

Minimum Requirements:

• A level 4 New Zealand Health & Wellbeing certificate (or equivalencies that have an IQA assessment from NZQA OR are accepted international equivalents) or
• A minimum 3 year’s relevant work experience as a support worker

Wage rates start at $27.83 to $30.06 per hour gross taxable, depending on your level of qualification.

Contracted Hours are from 32 to 40 hours per week.

Note: Guaranteed 32 hours exclusive of sleepovers.

To work for us you must:

• Hold a current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to complete one at our cost)
• Hold a FULL current NZ Driver License (or have the ability to obtain one)
• Be legally eligible to work in New Zealand
• Have a valid work visa with a minimum of 12 months until expiry.
