Job summary

HealthCare New Zealand – Taupo is seeking empathetic and passionate Support Workers across Community & Rehabilitation, Disability and Social Services. You will join a dedicated team, offering flexible or rostered full-time and part-time shifts to suit your life.

As part of our broad services, you will help clients live independently at home and in the community, following care plans, with medication administration, personal care, and practical support as needed.

Qualifications

• Empathy and a passion for helping others.
• Healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous.
• Must hold a full NZ driver’s licence and have reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients to live independently at home and in the community.
• Follow care plans and provide practical and emotional support.
• Administer medication, assist with personal cares and home management as required.

We are currently looking for empathetic and passionate Support Workers across our different services including Community & Rehabilitation, Disability and Social Services. Whether you are looking for flexibility around other commitments or would prefer regular rostered shifts, we have a variety of permanent full-time and part-time options on offer.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
