Job summary

Financial Independence is a leading insurance advisory firm based in Tauranga CBD. We are seeking an experienced insurance professional to join our Durham Street office in a permanent full-time position.

The role blends broker support, client service, insurance administration and claims assistance, working with Commercial Brokers on domestic and commercial insurance. You will manage renewals, policy changes and new business while helping clients navigate claims with advocacy and care.

Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance industry, domestic and/or commercial insurance.
• Strong understanding of insurance products, policy administration and client servicing.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• Experience working with CRM, broking and document management systems.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach to supporting multiple team members.
• Claims experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to join our Durham Street office in a permanent full-time position. This role offers a unique blend of supporting our Commercial Brokers, managing a portfolio of domestic insurance clients, and assisting with claims when required.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines broker support, client service, insurance administration and claims assistance.

You will work closely with our Commercial Brokers to support the delivery of outstanding client outcomes while also managing domestic insurance enquiries, renewals, policy changes and new business. At times, you will assist clients through the claims process, acting as their advocate and helping them navigate what can often be a stressful experience.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and values building strong relationships with clients, colleagues and insurer partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Hold the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5).
