Join a dynamic Council team as Executive Officer, providing high-level support and helping shape outcomes for our community.

Te tūranga | The Opportunity Bring clarity to complexity, keep priorities moving and help one of Council’s most critical groups perform at its best. As Executive Officer, you’ll provide high-level, confidential support to the Group Manager Corporate Services. This pivotal role places you at the centre of a busy and complex environment, where your organisation, judgement and initiative will help the Group Manager stay well briefed and focused on what matters most. You’ll work alongside experienced managers and specialists across governance, digital solutions, information technology, finance and reporting, legal services and other critical functions to enable Council to deliver the services that helps our district thrive. More than diary and administration support, this role calls for someone who can understand the Group Manager’s priorities, anticipate what’s coming and turn decisions into action. You’ll coordinate critical workflows, manage a complex diary and meetings, prepare high-quality reports and presentations, track actions and approvals, and support key projects. As a trusted connector across the Group, you’ll help people stay aligned and maintain momentum on important work. No day will be the same!

Nā tōu rourou | What you will bring

You’ll be an experienced executive support professional who combines exceptional organisation with initiative, curiosity and sound judgement. You build trusted relationships and remain composed and solution-focused as priorities shift. Your discretion, professionalism and ability to navigate complexity will be essential. You’ll also hold a current and valid NZ Driver Licence.

You’ll bring strong capability in:

  • Providing high-level executive, administrative and project support in a complex environment.
  • Managing competing priorities, deadlines and a busy executive diary.
  • Building effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Producing high-quality correspondence, reports, presentations and meeting documentation.
  • Using Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Leveraging technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Managing confidential and politically sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Supporting projects, monitoring actions and coordinating reporting requirements.

You’ll be a self-starter and a natural problem-solver who communicates with confidence, anticipates needs and follows through. If you’re energised by being at the heart of an organisation, enjoy helping senior leaders to succeed and want your work to contribute to positive outcomes for the Kāpiti Coast community, we’d love to hear from you.
