We are looking for an Executive Governance Support Lead to provide high-quality governance and support to the Board and committees and work closely with and support our Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team.
You’ll help keep our Board, committees and Executive Leadership Team organised, informed and working effectively together. You’ll coordinate meeting schedules, agendas and papers, prepare minutes and track actions and decisions to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
You’ll also support leaders to prepare clear, well-structured Board papers and reports, keep governance records up to date, manage key deadlines and ensure information is accurate, secure and shared on time. You’ll help coordinate policy reviews, AGM activities, annual reporting and Board appointments, while making sure our governance processes meet relevant requirements.

You’ll keep an eye on upcoming priorities, support Board and committee member onboarding, coordinate briefings and information requests, and provide practical support. You’ll also look for ways to make our governance systems and processes simpler, more consistent and effective.
You will use technology to the fullest in this role, we have a lot going on in the governance space and it will be up to you to be all over it.
You’ll have experience in governance and working with Boards, Committees or senior leadership teams.

You know the tools that are used in this type of role to make things efficient while still having a strong accuracy and clarity lens. You’ll be organised, detail-focused and great at managing competing priorities. You juggle many plates and you thrive on that. You’re clam, proactive, reliable and someone who keeps tracking forward and isn't afraid to follow up on actions and decisions. You know when to step in, when to escape and how to handle sensitive matters with diplomacy and discretion. You use good judgement and can be trusted to handle sensitive information with care. You’re comfortable working independently, thinking ahead and keeping things on track, even when priorities change.
Most importantly, you connect with our values and want to make a positive difference for animals, people and communities.
A qualification in governance, business administration, legal studies, company secretarial practice or public administration would be great, but we also value comparable experience. Experience in a charity, not-for-profit, public sector or multi-site organisation would be a bonus.
The role sometimes involves meetings outside standard business hours and occasional travel, so flexibility is needed occasionally.
