Job summary

NEXON HOLDINGS LIMITED is seeking an experienced Retail Supervisor for Ngunguru Foodmart, Whangarei. This full-time, permanent role offers 30 to 42 hours per week with pay ranging from $28 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.

You will support the Store Manager and help maintain high customer service standards. Responsibilities include supervising daily sales, stock and pricing management, till reconciliation, and assisting with forecasts and budgets.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant retail experience or a Diploma/degree in Business/Management.
• LCQ qualification is a possible advantage.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operations & Leadership: Supervise daily retail sales activities, open and close the store as needed, and manage smooth store operations in the Manager's absence.
• Stock & Pricing Management: Determine product needs, ensure optimum stock levels, enter pricing/inventory into the POS system, and oversee the timely stocking of new inventory.
• Financial & Administrative: Perform daily till cashing/reconciliation, assist with sales forecasting, expense reviewing, budgeting, and maintaining weekly specials.
• Team Guidance & Training: Motivate store staff, cultivate a positive work environment, and deliver effective training programs for junior team members.
• Customer Service & Compliance: Ensure excellent customer service, handle customer inquiries/complaints, maintain positive customer relations, and ensure adherence to local council and government regulations.
• Business Insights & Marketing: Assist with local marketing, in-store promotions, and provide feedback on sales trends and local competitor activity.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years of relevant retail experience OR
• Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Business/Management/relevant/other
• Certifications & Licenses: Not essential but could be an advantage if hold a current Liquor Licensing Controller Qualification (LCQ).
• Availability: Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Physical Fitness: Physically fit and comfortable with routine lifting and manual handling.
