Job summary

Stellar Recruitment Pty is seeking an experienced Civil Excavator Operator for Northland projects. You will operate excavators and civil machinery across a range of sites, performing earthworks and site preparation while supporting roading and drainage activities.

Civil Excavator Operator | Northland

We’re working with a well-established, locally owned civil contractor delivering a range of projects across Northland, including roading, earthworks, drainage, subdivisions and general civil construction.

With a strong pipeline of work ahead, they’re looking for an experienced Civil Excavator Operator to join their team.

This is an opportunity for someone who knows their way around a digger, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a hardworking crew. We’re looking for someone who can operate confidently, think ahead on site and isn’t afraid to jump out of the machine and lend a hand when required.

What you’ll be doing

• Operating excavators and other civil machinery across a variety of projects
• Bulk and detailed earthworks, excavation and site preparation
• Supporting roading, drainage and general civil construction activities
• Working around services, trenches and existing infrastructure
• Assisting the crew on the ground when required
• Maintaining safe, tidy and productive worksites

What we’re looking for

• Proven excavator operating experience within civil construction
• Confident operating across varied terrain and site conditions
• Experience in earthworks, roading, drainage or infrastructure projects
• Ability to work accurately around levels, services and tight spaces
• Strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Someone who takes ownership of their work and doesn’t need constant supervision

Required tickets and licences

• Full Class 1 driver’s licence
• WTR endorsements
• ConstructSafe or Site Safe certification
• Proven experience operating excavators in a civil environment

Class 2 or higher licences, GPS machine control experience and additional machinery experience would be advantageous.
