The University of Auckland is seeking an Event Technician to join our Event Services team to coordinate and deliver audio-visual and logistical support for a wide range of university events. This permanent full-time role is based across campuses, supporting both in-person and online events.
You will set up and operate technical equipment, manage logistics, and ensure high-quality service to internal clients, with evening and weekend work as part of event delivery.
We are seeking an Event Technician to join our Event Services team to coordinate and deliver audio-visual and logistical support across a wide range of University of Auckland events, faculties and departments. Based across our campuses, this is a hands‑on role supporting both in‑person and online events.
In this varied and practical role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating technical and event equipment, delivering logistics support, and ensuring high‑quality service to internal clients. Your work will include supporting live events, webinars and streamed content, as well as managing event setups and pack downs.
You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced environment. This role requires flexibility, with evening and weekend work required as part of event delivery.

This is a permanent full‑time position (37.5 hours per week). The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 (pro‑rated, for part time), negotiable depending on skills and experience.

You are an experienced Event Technician with a strong background in audio‑visual support and event delivery. You are confident working with a range of technical equipment and enjoy being hands‑on in delivering high‑quality events, including live and online formats.
You bring a proactive and positive approach, with strong interpersonal skills that enable you to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders. You are organised, adaptable and comfortable working under pressure, whether independently or as part of a team. You are also physically capable of manual setup and pack down and take pride in delivering reliable, professional service.
