Key Responsibilities

• Assess sites, take measurements and plan garden layouts to meet client requirements.
• Prepare landscape plans, select suitable plants and materials, and organise project work.
• Clear and prepare sites, including grading ground and preparing soil for planting.
• Set out and construct garden beds, paths, paved areas, retaining walls and fences.
• Prepare lawn areas by spreading topsoil, laying instant turf or sowing grass seed.
• Plant trees, shrubs, hedges and other plants, and install supports or protection whererequired.
• Maintain gardens and lawns through pruning, weeding, mowing, watering and fertilising.
• Use and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely.

Job Prerequisites

• A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Practical experience in landscape construction and planting is preferred.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors.
• A reliable work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team.
