Job summary

Iqra School in Auckland is seeking a permanent Teacher Aide to start in 2027, combining ESOL language support with maths assistance for Years 1–8. You will work with teachers to help English learners and students needing numeracy support, using targeted strategies for individual and small-group instruction.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Teacher Aide, ESOL instructor, maths tutor, or similar educational support role.
Strong understanding of ESOL needs and strategies for language development.
Experience supporting students with mathematics and numeracy concepts.
Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners and language levels.

Responsibilities

Provide targeted ESOL support focusing on vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills.
Deliver maths support to students needing additional help with numeracy.
Assist students with classroom tasks, emphasizing language comprehension and math reasoning.
Monitor and record student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to align with instructional objectives.
