Job summary

Randstad New Zealand seeks a Financial Controller to own day-to-day accounting and lead a finance team within a major FMCG manufacturing setup. You will manage the general ledger, tax compliance, month-end processes, and external audits, while partnering with production and sales to optimise costing, inventory, and variances.

Based alongside the Head of Finance, you will drive digitalisation of financial workflows and serve as a key operational link between NZ operations and global HQ.

Qualifications

• Solid, hands-on NZ financial leadership experience in large-scale FMCG/manufacturing.
• Expertise in manufacturing cost modules and cost accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting plus CA/CPA qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting operations and manage a dedicated finance team.

The Role

• Lead daily accounting operations and manage a dedicated finance team, ensuring a high-performing and cohesive environment.
• Take absolute, hands-on ownership of the General Ledger, local IRD tax compliance, month-end processes, and external audit relationships.
• Partner across production and sales departments to optimise product costing models, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Act as a key operational bridge between local New Zealand execution and global headquarters, driving the digitalisation of financial workflows.

What You Bring

• Must Have: Solid, hands-on NZ financial and team leadership experience, strictly within large-scale FMCG or manufacturing environments.
• Exceptional enterprise systems knowledge (SAP/U9 preferred) and specialist-level expertise in manufacturing cost modules.
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting alongside recognised professional accounting qualifications (CA/CPA).
