Job summary

Fonterra Te Mātāpuna seeks an Environmental Operator to support the sustainable operation of the Te Rapa site. You will operate and monitor the wastewater treatment plant, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities include data entry, sampling, routine maintenance, and reporting. This fixed‑term role follows a 4 days on, 4 days off day shift (5:30am–5:00pm) with strong teamwork and safety emphasis.

Qualifications

• Intermediate computer skills with the ability to accurately enter and record data.
• Mechanical aptitude or previous experience working with plant, machinery or equipment.
• A strong focus on safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively within a team and communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the wastewater treatment plant to meet regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and sample laboratory tests.
• Enter data and generate reporting for environmental compliance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Work outdoors and adapt to a rotating day shift pattern.
