Job summary

New Zealand Government is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to shape the enterprise technology direction and enable better long-term decision making. You’ll translate business strategy into enterprise target states, roadmaps and strategic advice, working with senior leaders across Digital and System Leadership.

You’ll focus on guiding investment, aligning capabilities and services, and influencing decisions with an enterprise-wide perspective while staying upstream of delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in enterprise architecture, business architecture or strategic advisory roles.
• Strong business capability modelling and enterprise planning experience.
• The ability to translate business strategy into clear enterprise direction.
• Experience influencing executives and senior decision-makers.
• An understanding of investment planning, governance and organisational priorities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to simplify complexity and provide clear, actionable advice.
• A collaborative approach that builds alignment across business, architecture, digital and delivery communities.
