Job summary

New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) seeks a Principal Enterprise Architect to lead Digital & System Leadership by shaping enterprise direction, capabilites and strategic investment across the technology landscape. You will partner with senior leaders, translate strategy into target states and provide guidance across NZTA.

This business-led role operates upstream of delivery, translating priorities into capability roadmaps and ensuring coherence across architecture, digital and delivery domains.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in enterprise architecture, business architecture or strategic advisory roles.
• Strong business capability modelling and enterprise planning experience.
• The ability to translate business strategy into clear enterprise direction.
• Experience influencing executives and senior decision-makers.
• An understanding of investment planning, governance and organisational priorities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to simplify complexity and provide clear, actionable advice.
• A collaborative approach that builds alignment across business, architecture, digital and delivery communities.

• Connect business priorities with digital, data and technology opportunities.
• Ensure business and Digital engage early to understand opportunities, constraints and enterprise implications before investment and delivery pathways are established.
