Job summary

JobSpace in Auckland is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for an initial 3-month contract. You will support enterprise LAN, WAN and internet environments, handle incidents, changes, upgrades, and performance optimisation with minimal ramp-up time.

The role requires 3+ years in Network Engineering, strong routing/switching/firewall skills, and CCNA certification; cloud exposure is a plus. Excellent communication and a customer-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Network Engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
• Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, and routing protocols.
• Proven troubleshooting and incident management capability.
• Experience working within enterprise operational environments.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• CCNA certification and cloud exposure highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage network incidents, requests, alerts, and change activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routing, switching, firewall, and connectivity issues.
• Perform software upgrades and support network infrastructure maintenance.
• Monitor network performance and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and ITSM records.
• Work with vendors, carriers, and third-party providers to resolve network issues.
• Support enterprise LAN, WAN, and internet environments.
• Contribute to operational excellence through proactive monitoring and problem resolution.
