Job summary

Inland Revenue is seeking an Architect L3 based in Wellington to lead enterprise architecture across technology, security, data, and change initiatives. This role shapes architecture strategy and ensures secure, scalable, and sustainable outcomes aligned with IR's objectives.

You will translate strategy into practical designs, govern architecture artifacts, and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive value while balancing risk and delivery realities.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in technology architecture, including reference architectures, blueprints, patterns, roadmaps and implementation pathways.
• Ability to translate strategy, policy and enterprise requirements into practical architectural guidance.
• Proven ability to influence enterprise-wide decision-making and lead across complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong understanding of security, resilience, and non-functional requirements embedded in designs.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise and solution architecture leadership across technology domains including cloud, security, data, integrations.
• Design architectures, standards, patterns, and roadmaps enabling secure, scalable, and sustainable outcomes.
• Govern architecture reviews and governance, supporting risk management and cross-agency collaboration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, SIDMs, and partners to develop roadmaps and manage interdependencies.
