Jade Software Corporation is seeking an Engineering Lead to join our Application Engineering team in New Zealand. You will lead a talented group of software engineers, providing coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance while fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.

This hands-on leadership role balances people leadership with technical contribution, shaping engineering practices, setting direction, and delivering high-quality software for our customers across industries.

About the Role

As an Engineering Lead at Jade, you'll play a pivotal role in developing both people and technology. Reporting to the Senior Delivery Manager, you'll lead a team of talented software engineers, providing coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance while fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance people leadership with technical contribution. You'll help shape engineering practices, influence technical direction, and support the delivery of high-quality software solutions for our customers. Working across a variety of projects and customer engagements, you'll champion engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation while helping your team grow and succeed.

What You'll Be Doing:

Leading and growing a team of talented engineers through coaching, mentoring, and regular development conversations, you will also:

• Provide technical leadership across design, architecture, and delivery, helping the team build high-quality software solutions.
• Stay hands‑on when needed, contributing to technical problem‑solving and supporting complex delivery work.
• Champion great engineering practices, including quality, automation, security, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with customers, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to design and deliver great outcomes.
• Help build a positive, high‑performing team culture where people can do their best work.

About You

An experienced software engineering leader who enjoys helping both people and technology thrive, you bring strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine passion for developing others.

You’ll also have:

• Significant experience in software engineering, including leading or mentoring engineers.
• Strong skills in software design, architecture, and delivering quality solutions.
• Experience working in Agile environments and leading teams through successful delivery.
• A coaching approach to leadership and a commitment to helping others grow.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for modern engineering practices.

Ideally, you’ll also bring experience with cloud‑based solutions and Microsoft technologies.
