Job summary

Tribe Group in Porirua, New Zealand, is hiring multiple Lead Java Developers to shape the future of critical enterprise applications. These roles mix hands-on coding with technical leadership, mentoring engineers and guiding Agile teams to high performance.

You’ll lead within product teams, design scalable architectures, and collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, and Test Engineers to deliver robust software across NZ. Expect coaching, code-writing, and ongoing engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java 17 and Spring Boot with experience building enterprise applications.
• Strong design and architecture skills for large-scale systems.
• Experience leading software engineering teams and coaching engineers.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Work within multiple Agile product teams to provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle.
• Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Test Engineers and developers to deliver secure, scalable solutions for operational outcomes.
• Lead by example, coach engineers, and maintain high engineering standards while enabling team delivery.
