About the role
As an Engineering Trade Assistant, you will work alongside qualified tradespeople and production staff to help keep our plant, equipment and site operating safely and efficiently. The work will be varied and will include general maintenance support, workshop tasks, assisting with repairs, cleaning and preparation work, and helping with day‑to‑day operational needs.
Key responsibilities
Assist tradespeople with maintenance, repairs and installation work.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
Support general workshop and site maintenance tasks.
Help identify and report equipment issues or hazards.
Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Work cooperatively with production and maintenance teams.
About you
You are reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
You have a practical, hands‑on approach and enjoy physical work.
You can follow instructions and work safely around machinery.
You have good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Previous experience in maintenance, engineering, mechanical work, manufacturing, forestry or sawmill operations would be an advantage, but is not essential.
