Job summary

HealthNew Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a qualified Sterile Services Technician for the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit at Christchurch Hospital. You will join a dynamic team responsible for reprocessing endoscopes to meet service needs.

The role is permanent, with 0.6–1.0 FTE (24–40 hours per week) and shift coverage Monday to Friday 0730–1800, plus on-call duties for acute endoscopy procedures. NZSSA certification required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Sterile Services Technicians with NZSSA certification.
• Experience in endoscope reprocessing and decontamination.
• Knowledge of healthcare documentation and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct technical processing of reusable medical devices (RMDs).
• Ensure decontamination through proper washing procedures.
• Inspect and test RMDs according to device specifications.
• Complete all required documentation.
