Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our Wellington Hospital Emergency Department. In a fast-paced, patient-centred team, you will support patients and clinical staff with personal care, mobility, comfort, and essential clinical tasks.

We offer permanent positions with flexible hours (0.5 to 1.0 FTE) including rostered shifts, working alongside a skilled nursing team in a Level 6 ED service.

Qualifications

• Health Care Assistance Certificate Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent).
• Experience in a healthcare or related service environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confidence and experience in safe moving and handling.
• Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts across Sunday to Monday.
