Job summary

Tait Communications, based in Christchurch, is seeking an embedded software engineer to design, develop and maintain firmware for mission‑critical radio products. You’ll work across the stack, contribute to platform software and core firmware, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an agile environment.

You will bring a strong background in embedded firmware for commercial products, C/C++, and experience with wireless tech such as Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi.

Qualifications

Proven experience developing embedded firmware for commercial products.
Solid understanding of C/C++ and real-time systems.
Experience with wireless technologies such as Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi is valuable.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for mobile and portable radio products.
Contribute to platform software, system architecture and core firmware components.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across the software stack.
Integrate wireless technologies, audio systems, and peripheral interfaces.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver features and enhancements.
Drive continuous improvement in software quality and development practices.
