Electronics and Mechatronics Technology Teacher – Secondary School

Working In NZ is seeking a skilled and motivated Electronics and Mechatronics Technology Teacher for a permanent position at a well-established secondary school in South Auckland.

We are looking for a teacher with strengths in areas such as:

• Electronics and control technology (including mechatronics contexts) within the Technology learning area of the New Zealand Curriculum
• Designing and developing technological outcomes involving electronic and controlled systems
• Circuit design, electronic components, and troubleshooting
• Mechatronics, automation, and control systems (including sensors and actuators)
• Digital and embedded systems (e.g. microcontrollers and coding in a technological context)
• Practical workshop or lab-based teaching
• Supporting NCEA Technology achievement standards in electronics, control, and digital contexts
• Engineering, electronics, or automation industry experience (desirable)

• Technological practice, including planning, development, testing, and evaluation of electronic and mechatronic outcomes
• Understanding systems, including inputs, outputs, and control processes
• Developing student capability in design, innovation, and problem solving using electronic and intelligent systems
• Applying learning to authentic, future-focused, and industry-relevant contexts
• Supporting pathways into engineering, trades, STEM, and further education

Students may be working towards:

• NCEA Technology achievement standards in electronics, control, and digital contexts
• Vocational and STEM-related pathways where appropriate
