Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking NZ Registered Electricians for a full-time Taupō Solar Farm project. You will install electrical equipment across a utility-scale site, run AC/DC cabling, manage terminations, read plans, and collaborate with civil, mechanical and electrical crews.

Previous solar experience is valuable but not essential. We offer a competitive hourly rate, a project-completion bonus, full-time hours, weekly pay, and site transport from selected locations.

Qualifications

  • Be a New Zealand Registered Electrician.
  • Hold a current EWRB Electrical Practising Licence.
  • Have commercial, industrial, infrastructure or solar electrical experience.
  • Be confident reading plans and working to specification.
  • Have a strong commitment to electrical and construction-site safety.
  • Be reliable and able to commit to the duration of the project.
  • Hold a Full Class 1 Driver Licence.
  • Site safe, EWP, WAH and First Aid qualifications would also be useful.
  • Have your own basic electrical hand tools.
  • Have the right to work in New Zealand.
  • Be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

  • Cable pulling and cable-management installation
  • Installing and connecting solar electrical infrastructure
  • Working with inverters, switchgear and associated equipment
  • Completing terminations and electrical connections
  • Reading and interpreting electrical plans and specifications
  • Testing, fault finding and supporting commissioning activities
  • Working alongside civil, mechanical and electrical crews
  • Maintaining safe, accurate and high-quality installation standards

Registered Electricians – Taupō Solar Farm

$48–$51 per hour + project-completion bonus

Transport to and from site available from selected locations

Tradestaff is looking for NZ Registered Electricians to join the team delivering a major solar farm project near Taupō.

This is a great opportunity for electricians based in Taupō and the surrounding regions to put their skills to work on an important renewable-energy development, while gaining valuable experience on a large-scale infrastructure project.

Previous solar experience would be valuable, but it isn’t essential.

We’re also keen to hear from capable commercial and industrial electricians who bring strong installation skills, safe working practices and a high standard of workmanship.

The Opportunity

Depending on the stage of the project and your experience, your work may include:

  • Installing electrical equipment across a utility-scale solar farm
