Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking motivated Solar Trade Assistants for a major project across Hamilton and surrounding areas. Ideal candidates have electrical experience, enjoy hands-on work, and will develop skills alongside qualified tradespeople.

Local work with weekly pay and a start date with no fixed date. Responsibilities include assisting electricians, using hand and power tools, preparing work areas, and supporting safe site operations.

Qualifications

• New Zealand Electrical Pre-Trade qualification is preferred.

We’re looking for motivated Solar Trade Assistants to join a significant project across Hamilton and surrounding areas. If you have electrical experience, enjoy hands‑on work, and want to build your skills alongside qualified tradespeople, this could be a great opportunity.

Location: Hamilton and surrounding areas
Start date: No specific start date
Pay rate: $26–$27 per hour – paid weekly

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting qualified electricians, installers and other tradespeople with day-to-day site activities
• Using hand and power tools, including drills, grinders and saws, under appropriate supervision
• Preparing work areas and removing or replacing materials to provide access for electrical work
• Digging trenches and holes, and assisting with pulling and laying cables
• Installing conduits, cable trays and mounting structures
• Assisting with multi‑person installations and handling tools and materials
• Supporting site setup and cleanup while following all health and safety requirements
